              History of the Church

Come with me now as we enter the wonderful super natural world of God. You see God’s ways are not like our ways and His ways do not have to make sense to us. So, we begin. It was a Sunday morning in the Fall
of 1999, we were all together (Bishop Dennis, Pastor Ed & Pastor Ernie) in Pastor Ernie’s church in Clifton Park, when a small group of Christians who were visiting told us how they loved what they saw there in the Church. Then they explained to us that there were several of them living north of us near Glens Falls and asked if we would consider beginning a church there in that area. We said we would come to exploratory meetings beginning on Saturday at 7 PM.

When we arrived we found some 35 people waiting for us and so it began meeting week in and week out, moving from home to home and hotel to hotel. Soon Pastor Ernie grew tired of the strain of going and gave it to us to do. I had told him how God had given me a love for these people and he said God was calling me to be there pastor. So it began hotel-to-hotel, growing and growing all this by the hand of God. People said they had to come on Saturday night in order to find out where we would meet the next week.

After a few months Pastor Ed & I felt the leading of the Lord to look for a permanent location. Many people had ideas but we were satisfied to be led of God to the place He had prepared for us. We looked at a building at 49 Broadway in Fort Edward NY. This building had been a deli and was cut up with pillars ; so we both discounted it as a possible location. GOD MOVES AGAIN! One day Pastor Ed called Bishop Dennis and said he felt God was telling him we should look again at 49 Broadway. Bishop Dennis replied that God had been telling him the same thing. So they met with the owner and he wanted to rent the building for $1200 a month. They explained to him we could afford $300 a month, the landlord then said he had never rented it for under $1000 a month however he would give it to them for $500 a month. God told us he has come down a lot so you must come up a little.

We began meeting on Sunday at 10:30 AM and borrowed 100 metal folding chairs. People came from all over , some traveling over 50 miles just to come to church with us. God had told us we were a church where “The difference was worth the distance.” We obtained a sound system and converted a wooden storage building into a fellowship hall with a complete kitchen. Then God opened to doors for us to purchase the building and the land for little money down and the owner held the mortgage avoiding our having to use a bank. People were coming from all over and a Sunday would have some 135 to 145 people. We only had 100 seats however there was always room! (Don’t ask me to explain that it’s all God)
From there God told us to prophesy against the walls and move them some 45 feet out. With the help of the people we raised some $25,000. God sovereignly sent people to us . He sent men and women to complete every portion of the construction. We never asked for anything however people would come up to us and donate there services. Now we have a 1600 sq. ft. addition worth some $140,000, which we paid about $55,000. Our God is a GREAT God! We now have a daily radio show ,"God's Provision" ,given to us by God himself (even the radio station realizes that). So we continue with the ups and the downs of life however always guided by God.

In fact at our dedication the Town Supervisor told us that the land we are on was known by the American Indians as “The Place of Hearing God.” She further said that she found it amazing that there was now a church on that very land. There are more and more stories of how God moved in healings, gave us the visitation of angels and more signs and wonders. We serve an amazing God! We listen, we wait and if He says go we go, stay, we stay, step out on the water we step out .
So, we invite you to come and see for yourself why people from all over are making the trip to a small church in upstate Ft Edward New York.
